Roman’s 1:18- “For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness.” Today, in our Sunday school class, we discussed the importance of God’s word given to us. This verse simply talks about the power of God given to us to through the unrighteousness of man and how we are outspoken unto him to be called out by his grace.

What it means to me: It is very important for us to listen to what God has to say and they only way that we can figure how to live in his word is through the Bible. He is the way, the truth, and the life. There is no other reason to live unless we live through God. Many others will try and pull us down and claim that there is no “truth” but we have to believe what God has offered to us- His Son.

I’m fifteen, and I’m highly thankful for the environment that I’ve been raised in. This church has given me safety and comfort. Things this world and society can not. Every day I’m growing closer and closer to my Lord, and every day I’m happier and happier. I’m thankful for my youth group for carrying me in difficult times and even in the easy times.
If be nowhere without my church family.

Wow doesn’t begin to tell how God has worked in our lives through studentlife. It is easy to keep God at the top of our “list” of priorities, but it is quite something different to have Him on the throne of our life. Often as Christians we get caught up in serving God and forget to keep Him as our focus and to let Him reign exclusively and supreme. We ask God’s permission on big things, but HE wants everything – even the little things. My prayer is that the changes that God is making will continue and that the changes will be apparent for ALL to see. Keep us in your prayers as we know the adversary doesn’t like for God to have the victory, so many of us will be under spiritual attack – let God be glorified! Thank you church for your support of this ministry, without you we wouldn’t have the opportunity.

My reflection of Student Life, Summer 2011:

Life changing. Life altering. Never have I been so impacted, and never
will I be the way I was before June 16, 2011. Being challenged to look
at myself through Deuteronomy 6, I found myself DEVOTED to something
that was not our Lord, Jesus Christ.
As David Nasser put it, I had God on the top shelf, but not the
throne. Many things can be thrown upon that top shelf, and that is not
a place where God deserves to be. He deserves to sit atop the throne
which is above that top shelf. He doesn’t deserve to be jumbled with
other things; He deserves that throne.
And after camp this year, I’ve realized that that’s where I’m putting
God, from now on. I cannot change the past and my mistakes I’ve made,
but I can change my future. And that’s exactly what I plan on doing.
My life, now and from here on out, is DEVOTED to the only person it
ever should have been: my Lord and Savior.
I reflect on this camp as one of the most amazing things that has ever
happened to me. I became vulnerable and allowed myself to accept the
Lord to take away my stoney heart for one that He could be more proud
of.

We say it every year on the last night at the beach as we sit with the youth group we have come to know and love. We say we are all going to change for the better but it never lasts…well not with me anyways. This year, it feels like God was really talking to me and I finally listened. I finally listened to the direction the Lord is trying to give me. After listening to David Nasser, it’s quite obvious that I just had God on the top shelf, not on the throne he deserves to be on. As I listened each morning and night, I felt like I was the only one in the room. God wanted my attention and I gave it to him. It’s so easy to get distracted as we go through our daily lives, but it’s up to us to stay strong in our faith. This year, we had so many students that got closer with their walk with the Lord. And even though I am still a student myself, I pray that each person continues this walk with the Lord. I pray that we can all glorify God with every part of us. Deuteronomy 6:5 says, “And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.” I’m trying to live up to that….are you?
